Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished, and highly motivated manager to join our team at North Road West Medical Centre on a fixed term basis.

As the Practice Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading, planning, and managing the day-to-day operations of the practice while ensuring high-quality patient care. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of the practice and the wider organisation.

The practice is run by three GP partners, supported by five salaried GPs, paramedics, a dedicated nursing team and the practice manager.

About us

North Road West Medical Centre serves a patient list size of approximately 10,000 patients. We are a city-centre family practice providing a full range of general practice and family medical services. While serving our patient demographic, you will gain a wider understanding of systemic issues, inequality and a deeper understanding of social and economic deprivation. One of our values is to confound the perceptions of inferior quality and delivery of GP services to deprived inner-city populations by offering universal access to high-quality services based on clinical need. Making a tangible difference to patients’ lives is the foundation of the practice.

We are one of the key city providers of medical education in association with Plymouth University Peninsula Medical School and South West Deanery, providing training to medical undergraduate students, paramedics, nurses and post-graduate doctors.

The practice prides itself on its friendly and supportive nature towards all staff. Peer recognition and inclusive decision making is a key to help the practice develop and succeed. The practice manager will work collaboratively with the GP partners to ensure the practice runs efficiently whilst ensuring the practice’s long-term vision.

We are part of Drake Medical Alliance Primary Care Network and share a growing multidisciplinary team of Physician Associates, Clinical Pharmacists, Care-Coordinators, Social Prescribers and others.

Job description

Job responsibilities: See attached supporting information. Your role will involve the overall management and co-ordination of the practice, managing staff to ensure the efficient running of the practice. You will also be expected to deal with the practice finances, ensuring contracts and policies are up to date as well as ensuring that the practice achieves long-term strategic objectives in an effective and safe working environment compliant with CQC Regulations. Through innovative ways of working, you will lead the team in promoting quality and continuous improvement, proactively seeking opportunities and technological solutions to improve the efficiency and stability of the business.
