Essential Requirements:
* Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or commitment to achieve this qualification
* Experience of working with vulnerable people and those with a learning disability
* Understand CQC regulations and the practical interpretation in your work
* Be flexible and able to work shifts including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and waking nights and bank holidays (and waking night shifts if required)
* Prepared to work across other services if required
* Good communication skills: verbal, non verbal, and written
The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our Learning Disabilities Supported Living Service in Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh. The Senior Support Worker will be supporting six adults over 55 with learning disabilities, the post will consist of 20 hours support and 20 hours admin work. The Senior will deputise in the absence of the team manager, and will have knowledge of online care planning, rota systems and daily recording. This role includes some hoisting, personal care and medication management along with supporting the clients with daily living tasks. The Senior will also support with staff supervisions, staff inductions, arranging training and role modelling for all staff within the service.

* Be able to role model good practice to other support staff
* Understand and promote independence
* Experience of enabling people to achieve positive outcomes
* Understand the importance of completing and reviewing paperwork such as support plans and risk assessments
* Be able to support staff in the absence of the manager
* Be prepared to support clients with daily living skills
* Understand confidentiality and how this applies to client
