We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior or Principal Hydrologist to join our dynamic Sustainable Water Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to high-profile Water Industry Natural Environment Programme (WINEP) and Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) projects across the UK.
Our Catchment Science team works across a wide spectrum of services covering water resources and water security, hydrology and hydraulics, water quality, hydroecology and hydrogeology. Through our projects we provide high quality technical services and advice to a wide range of high-profile customers in the UK and overseas, including government departments and agencies, the water industry, and a wide range of other industrial sectors.
Some of the things we are looking for…
 * A track record of contributing to the hydrological and water management elements of WINEP investigations and WRMP inputs in recent AMP cycles.
 * Experience in the development of rainfall runoff models, together with a sound understanding of model calibration techniques.
 * A solid understanding of wider hydrology approaches that are often required for water resources applications in England and Wales.
 * Some familiarity with demand management and water resources modelling approaches.
 * A good understanding of the latest UK water resources management regulations including the Water Resources Planning Guidelines and WINEP guidance such as Preventing Deterioration and Environmental Destination.
 * An understanding of approaches to assessing climate change resilience
 * An attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance, to include the production of high quality client and stakeholder/regulator facing deliverables.
 * Programming experience would be advantageous (e.g. Python and/or R), together with an interest in developing these skills.
 * Excellent communication skills and ability to write high quality concise reports
 * Working collaboratively with other sectors/disciplines to deliver the hydrological aspects of a wide range of challenging and engaging projects.
Qualifications
 * A water-focused MSc (e.g. hydrology & water resources, sustainable water management etc.) and BSc in related subject (e.g. physical geography, earth sciences, geology, civil engineering, etc.)
 * You will have gained, or be working towards chartership with a relevant professional body
