Our Trainee Accountant (TA) training scheme offers candidates a chance to gain practical experience in public audit, while supporting the attainment of the Chartered Accountancy qualification with Chartered Accountants Ireland.
The Northern Ireland Audit Office's role is to ensure taxpayers’ money is spent properly and to inspire confidence in public services. From day one, you will be a valued member of our team of experienced auditors, building your knowledge and expertise. Throughout the TA scheme, your duties will include:
* Developing and maintaining knowledge of our audited bodies
* Preparing audit plans, conducting research and data analysis
* Gathering audit evidence, recording results, reporting findings, and making recommendations
What are we looking for?
Our TAs come from diverse backgrounds—including career changers, Accounting Technicians, graduates, and mature students from fields such as Psychology, English, and Sports Studies.
What matters most is an inquisitive nature, analytical ability, pattern recognition, and problem-solving skills. You should also be a team player, able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
Your Qualifications:
* A 2:1 degree or above in any discipline or ATI Level 5 Diploma for Accounting Technicians
* Seven GCSE/GCE grades A-C in separate subjects including Mathematics and English Language
* A full driving licence and access to transportation
