Location – Warrington (North West)
Due to continued growth and CP7 contract award in the NW&C region, an outstanding opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to hone and develop their skills and experience by working closely with our experienced commercial team in a fast paced, Civils and rail infrastructure projects environment in the North West Region, contributing to the commercial & financial management and profitable performance of our portfolio of works throughout the region.
Business Unit
A busy and fast paced rail civils infrastructure project environment with an expansive portfolio of civils projects underway including line side rail civils contracts, bridges and structures renewals, large structural installations including new bridges, Access for All (AFA) schemes and general civils works.
Projects can typically include bridge upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms etc), access for all schemes, structures including bridges and footbridges, line side civils etc.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor you will be working within the regional project delivery team, primarily dedicated to rail infrastructure projects such as structures, bridges and station infrastructure improvement schemes within the region, but also providing support to other projects in the North West region.
Day to day responsibilities would include:
• Working with the commercial team and supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers in the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.
• Pricing and ensuring estimates are submitted accurately and on time,
• Resolving pricing issues with clients
• Client Liaison
• Liaison with Site Managers to collate information on day to day remits,
• Subcontractor management
• Change management and early warnings
• Contract administration (NEC/NR forms of contract)
• CVR’s
• Final accounting.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience at Quantity Surveyor level in a rail and civil engineering project environment working for a main contractor.
* Relevant degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
* Civil Engineering project experience (rail, bridges, roads, structures for example)
* Rail experience (Network Rail projects or maintenance frameworks)
* Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract)
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor working in a main contractor organisation.
