Job Introduction
We're looking for an experienced Compliance & Performance Manager to lead governance, quality and performance across a complex operational environment. This is a key leadership role, ensuring statutory, contractual and corporate compliance while driving continuous improvement in performance, risk management and reporting. You'll work closely with senior operational leaders and central teams to make sure high standards are consistently achieved and evidenced.
What you'll do
* Act as the business unit lead for governance, ensuring compliance with statutory, mandatory, contractual and corporate requirements.
* Lead and manage the compliance function, including people management, capability development and performance management.
* Oversee the development, implementation and review of integrated management systems, policies and procedures.
* Plan and deliver internal audit programmes, producing clear reports, insights and action plans.
* Monitor business performance and compliance trends, escalating risks and issues where required and tracking corrective actions.
* Manage contractual, compliance and performance reporting, ensuring accuracy, quality and delivery to agreed timescales.
* Work collaboratively with operational leaders, Health & Safety and Risk colleagues to manage operational risks, audits and regulatory activity.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting a culture of accountability, quality and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
* Proven experience managing compliance, governance or quality functions in a complex operational environment.
* Strong audit experience, including planning audits, writing reports and managing action plans to completion.
* Confidence working with integrated management systems (ISO or equivalent) and compliance frameworks.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build effective relationships at all levels.
* A proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to managing risk and performance issues.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills, with confidence using data to drive insight and improvement.
* Commercial awareness and an understanding of contractual obligations and service delivery expectations.
* Ideally, experience within healthcare, PFI or regulated environments, and/or relevant Health & Safety, Food Safety or Environmental qualifications.
