Assistant Accountant
Location: Yorkshire Clinic - Bingley
Full Time: 37.5 Hours
The role is based at our Yorkshire Clinic, Cottingley Business Park in Bingley. The Yorkshire Clinic is one of West Yorkshire's leading private hospitals, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, a prominent independent healthcare provider in England.
Established in 1982, the hospital has built an excellent reputation for delivering first-class healthcare to patients with health insurance, self-funding patients, and NHS patients exercising choice through the e-referral system.
The Role
The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in monitoring and reconciling NHS Debt, working closely with the Business Office to ensure efficient revenue capture and accurate reporting. The role includes delivering a comprehensive management accounting function, assisting with NHS activity submissions, and conducting ad hoc analysis as required. This is a practical role with a meaningful impact on the site's operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with the production of monthly management accounts.
2. Produce timely and accurate statistical and financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
3. Provide support to hospital managers and staff as needed.
4. Manage NHS debt (Credit Control).
5. Ensure NHS invoicing accurately captures revenue (collaborating with the Business Office, reconciling PLCM).
6. Provide cover for team colleagues.
7. Support hospital projects and initiatives under the guidance of the Head of Finance and Senior Leadership Team.
8. Deputise for the Head of Finance when appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
* Previous experience in a management accounting role, preferably in healthcare.
* Part-qualified or working towards an accountancy qualification such as AAT or CIMA.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business needs.
* Customer service skills aligned with Ramsay Way Vision and Values.
