About the role (External): Operatives can specialise in a range of disciplines, but for this role you\'ll become a specialist in Track Maintenance. Operatives work outside in all conditions, day or night, and across different terrains. The role involves demanding manual work and transporting kit, with safety as a priority, often next to moving trains travelling at high speed.
Responsibilities
* Maintain equipment and support the team on-site, ensuring readiness of van and gear for every shift.
* Provide lookout duties to keep the team safe when working near rail operations.
* Work in a small team to keep the rail network moving and safe, contributing to safe and efficient work delivery.

Additional Information
* Shifts: Operative roles involve a changing shift pattern including days, nights, and weekends.
* Outdoor working: Operatives work outside in all weathers and conditions.
* Safe working: Offers of employment are subject to drug and alcohol testing and successful completion of medical assessment and BPSS pre-employment checks, including hearing and eyesight examinations.
* Driving: A category B driving licence is required to drive Network Rail vehicles.
* Commute: You should be within a 60-minute commute of the location you are applying for.
