What you’ll do
You will diagnose faults and conduct root‑cause analysis for an advanced fleet, working with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Using electrical schematics, test equipment and diagnostic software you will perform corrective actions and repairs on new trains in a depot setting to ensure passenger service availability and reliability. Your role demands a technical expertise and an analytical mindset, thriving on solutions in a constantly changing environment and delivering results.

What you’ll need
You must hold a NVQ Level 3 in electrical/mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and have at least three years of post‑apprenticeship experience. Proven ability to detect faults, carry out root‐cause analysis across multiple systems, interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematic diagrams and effectively use diagnostic software, test and measuring equipment is required. A valid driver’s licence and flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, days and nights, are essential.
