Main duties of the job

The Project Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the design, coordination, and delivery of transformation and service improvement projects across the Primary Care Network (PCN). Working closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, the post holder will provide project coordination, administrative oversight, and engagement support to ensure that initiatives are delivered efficiently on time, and with measurable impact for patients, carers, and staff.

Mid Dorset Primary Healthcare Ltd is the employingorganisation for Mid Dorset Primary Care Network. The network covers a population ofapproximately 50,000 patients across our practice partners: The Atrium HealthCentre, Cerne Abbas Surgery, Fordington Surgery, Milton Abbas Surgery,Poundbury Surgery, Puddletown Surgery, The Prince of Wales Surgery.

Although practices still operate independently, workingtogether collaboratively provides wider opportunities and services forpatients.

Stakeholder Engagement

Buildrelationships with GP practices, clinical teams, social prescribers, carerleads, and community partners

Communicateclearly with internal and external stakeholders to support project awarenessand participation

Assistin the development of communications and promotional materials fortransformation projects

Ensurethat patient and public involvement is considered in project delivery, whereappropriate

Service ImprovementSupport

Identifyareas for service development through data analysis, feedback, or stakeholderconsultation

Workwith team leads to support continuous improvement approaches (e.g. PDSA cycles,process mapping)

Contributeto the writing and editing of improvement plans, business cases, and evaluationreports

Administrative Support

Providegeneral administrative support to the PCN team, including document preparation,scheduling, and report collation

Supportthe tracking of key project metrics and reporting requirements to ICS orfunders

Maintainconfidentiality and adhere to all NHS data governance and information sharingprotocols

Information relating topatients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of thePractice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with thePractice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protectionof personal and sensitive data.

Using personal security systems within the workplaceaccording to Practice guidelines.

Identifying the risks involved in work activitiesand undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks.

Making effective use of training to update knowledgeand skills.

Using appropriate infection control procedures,maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards.

Person Specification


Skills and abilities

* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Familiarity with NHS systems such as EMIS or SystmOne
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Confident working independently and using initiative
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Ability to use basic project management tools (e.g. task trackers, Gantt charts)
* Ability to collect, interpret, and report on data
* Familiarity with NHS systems such as EMIS or SystmOne


Experience

* Training or experience in project management or business support
* Experience in supporting or coordinating projects
* Experience working in healthcare, particularly the NHS or PCNs
* Experience working in an administrative or support role
* Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
* Experience contributing to service improvement or patient engagement
* Experience working with unpaid carers and/or children and young people.
* Experience working in healthcare, particularly the NHS or PCNs


Knowledge

* Understanding of project lifecycles and project support processesAwareness of the NHS and PCN priorities and challenges
* Knowledge of service improvement approaches and tools (e.g. PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma)

Qualifications

* Educated to A-level standard or equivalent experience
* Degree or professional qualification in healthcare, project management, or business
