GSL Education are seeking a committed and resilient SEMH Teacher to work in a dynamic school setting in Newcastle, supporting pupils who face emotional and behavioural challenges. Responsibilities of the SEMH Teacher:
* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to meet the emotional and learning needs of pupils with SEMH.
* Create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional development.
* Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to implement behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans.
* Use trauma-informed and restorative approaches to behaviour management.
* Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting lessons and support accordingly.
* Promote positive relationships and emotional resilience within the classroom.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching or supporting students with SEMH or related needs.
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
* A calm, empathetic, and flexible teaching approach.
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding procedures.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
