Purpose/Summary
Support the quality improvement and technical areas in the manufacturing production areas.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
1. Participate in Quality Improvement Activities involving appropriate resources
2. Supports manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, R&D, purchasing and other related resources in quality improvement
3. Supports the development of planned activities to improve quality. (Develops action plan, assign responsibility and target dates with team)
4. Research all sources that have experience with Technology, Product, Process, & etc. that can aid in quality improvement or process development
5. Assists Quality Improvement Project Activity. (Document and track results of actions.)
6. Assists problem solving and verification of countermeasures with team
7. Leads internal/external meetings related to Quality improvement projects
8. Provides guidance, technical support, and analysis for improvement projects and processes
9. Supports team in all aspects of quality improvement projects and processes
10. Supports team in all aspects of quality improvement and VA/VE
11. Key member in PPAP process, transfer projects, and launch activity (cradle to grave).
12. Update and maintain Quality KPI data and information.
13. Support APQP process through attendance and participation in CR and CFT meetings.
14. Report quality system results and metrics.
15. Support problem solving via phone as necessary.
16. IATF Internal Auditor
17. Support R/D testing and data analysis for (Japan / N.A)
18. Perform print reviews.
19. Key representative (lead) for customer quality related visits
20. Supports record retention activities.

Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)
22. Two (2) years of experience as a Quality Engineer.
23. 4-year college degree in engineering or technical field, preferred.
24. Minimum of 4 years in Quality Field. Quality/statistical/problem solving training classes/seminars, Six Sigma, Shanin’s techniques, preferred.
25. Familiarity with Automotive customer’s quality requirements and industry standards, preferred.
26. Materials, Brake product knowledge/experience preferred.

27. Communications (written/verbal) skills
28. Use of office-related software for office use
29. Blueprint reading, GD&T, basic understanding of metrology
30. Experience in automotive or manufacturing industry and PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, GR&R, SPC, Manufacturing Process Experience.

This position requires the following physical abilities: to sit; to use hands (to finger, handle, or feel), to reach with hands and arms, to stand, to talk, to hear and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition, the specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The work environment is mostly sedentary; however, there is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration and to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
