Financial Planning Manager – 12 Month FTC
Location: Commutable distance to Winchester / London
The Financial Planning Manager for Strategic Planning Cycles is responsible for overseeing the company’s budget, reforecasting, and long-term planning processes with an emphasis on clear communication, messaging, and cash focus. This role plays a key part in consolidating and communicating financial insights to stakeholders while driving planning excellence across the organization. By collaborating closely with the Commercial and Operations Finance Teams, this role ensures that financial plans are aligned with business objectives. It also provides essential support for Shareholders, Investor queries, and corporate finance initiatives.

The role:
1. Planning Cycle Management: Manage annual budgeting, reforecasting, and long-term planning cycles, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of consolidated financial plans for stakeholders, including shareholders, lenders, and rating agencies. Own cash forecasting to improve accuracy and insight. Responsible for strategic group financial planning to support corporate activities or shareholder initiatives.
2. Financial and Commercial Acumen: Develop a strong understanding of the company’s products, services, and market dynamics to ensure accurate communication to stakeholders and alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate with Commercial and Operations Finance teams to integrate business insights into planning cycles and validate financial assumptions.
3. Reporting and Messaging of Financial Plans: Support the Head of Strategic Financial Planning and Shareholder Relations in preparing clear financial presentations and reports, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and audience requirements.
4. Cash Forecasting: Lead cash and working capital forecasting transformation and monthly processes, enhancing insight and awareness of cash within the organization.
5. Forecasting Systems: Manage relationships with the Finance Systems team to ensure Oracle EPM is effectively operated, maintained, and improved.
The person:
1. Experience in FP&A roles at a group level of a similar-sized organization.
2. Ability to challenge proposals and ensure financials are reasonable and scrutinizable.
3. Technical knowledge of systems including Microsoft Office, Oracle Financials, Oracle EPM, and Smartview.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to simplify complex data and concepts for diverse audiences.
6. Accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent) or related finance degree.
