Healthcare Support Worker / Care Assistant Porthcawl £14.24 per hour Flexible / Agency Hours We are currently recruiting compassionate and reliable Healthcare Support Workers / Care Assistants to work across nursing and residential care settings in Porthcawl. Key Responsibilities Provide personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, continence care, feeding, and mobility support Support service users with social activities and emotional wellbeing, promoting independence wherever possible Monitor, record, and report vital signs and any changes in condition Assist with medication administration where appropriately trained and authorised Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and ongoing reviews Maintain accurate and timely care documentation Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times Support safe moving and handling, including the use of appropriate equipment Work collaboratively with nurses, senior carers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Safeguard vulnerable adults and maintain confidentiality in line with policy About You We are looking for individuals who are: Qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or working towards Level 3) or equivalent experience Able to demonstrate at least 6 months UK-based care experience (within the last 3 years) Compassionate, patient, and committed to delivering high standards of care Strong communicators and effective team players Able to follow policies, procedures, and care plans accurately Committed to dignity, respect, and person-centred care Requirements Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available) Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one at your own cost) Registration (or willingness to register) with Social Care Wales Ability to travel reliably to shifts (full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable) Willingness to complete mandatory training and refreshers where required (at your own cost where applicable) Satisfactory references and DBS clearance What We Offer Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella companies) Flexible shifts tailored to your availability Holiday pay included in hourly rate Auto-enrolment into NEST pension scheme after 3 months Opportunities to gain experience across a range of care settings Important Information As part of our safeguarding and compliance process, applicants will be required to confirm eligibility criteria, training requirements, and suitability for the role, including safeguarding history checks.
