Overview
The North East Essex Mental Health Support Team (MHST) covers a large geographical area incorporating the districts of Colchester and Tendring. It focuses on early intervention and prevention, supporting children, young people and families to manage mild to moderate mental health difficulties in educational settings.
Responsibilities
* Work in partnership with schools, children, young people and families to support the self‑management of mental health difficulties.
* Develop intervention plans and agreed outcomes in collaboration with educational staff.
* Act as an autonomous, responsible clinician within your scope of practice.
* Deliver evidence‑based individual and group interventions across primary, secondary and higher education settings.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, care plans and reviews.
* Use Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS) and clinical tools to gather feedback and guide clinical practice.
* Support learning and development alongside other EMHPs/CWPs and senior mental health practitioners; provide individual, group and consultation work.
* Work with schools to map and plan service delivery to improve outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements
* Ability to travel efficiently across the county and access to a vehicle.
* Experience delivering interventions to children and young people in primary, secondary and higher education settings.
* Competence in completing assessments, care plans and reviews.
* Proficiency in using ROMS and other clinical tools for feedback and service planning.
* Commitment to flexible working arrangements in line with trust policies.
Employment Terms
* The post is subject to a probationary period (internal applicants exempt).
* New starters will undergo a comprehensive induction programme of up to two weeks, including mandatory training and systems training.
