We are working with a rapidly growing housing provider to recruit two Finance Assistants to join their expanding team. This is a permanent opportunity offering real scope to develop your career within a supportive and ambitious organisation.

You’ll be joining at a key stage of development, supporting a growing income function that is central to the organisation’s continued success.

The role

This is a hands-on position combining accounts receivable, credit control, and account management responsibilities.

You will:

1. Manage a portfolio of tenancies, taking ownership of income and debtor balances
2. Review aged debt reports and reconcile accounts
3. Liaise with external stakeholders to resolve payment queries and chase outstanding balances
4. Investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records
5. Build effective working relationships with agents and internal teams
6. Support ongoing process improvements within the finance function
7. Work with internal systems and Excel to manage and track financial data

About you

8. Experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or a Finance Assistant role
9. Strong attention to detail and confidence handling high volumes of data
10. Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems
11. Clear and professional communication skills
12. Well organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
13. A team player with a collaborative approach

Experience within housing or a similar sector is advantageous but not essential.

Location & hours

14. Birmingham (office-based)
15. Monday to Friday, 9:30am–5:30pm
16. Free on-site parking available
