Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities, placed on us as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams.
In this role, you will be part of the Compliance and Monitoring team, within the Reservoir Regulation team. This is a part-time job share (22.2 hours per week). The team is part of the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department in the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. Some travel and overnight stays will be required as the team is nationally dispersed across the country.
Responsibilities
* Monitor compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2140 reservoirs in England.
* Manage day-to-day correspondence.
* Record incoming documentation on our database to ensure that our records are accurate and up to date.
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected.
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers.
* Provide information and advice on the requirements of the Act.
Experience / Skills Required
* Good verbal and written communications skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise a varied workload.

* This role is part-time (22.2 hours per week) and can be based at any Environment Agency office.

* Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
* Interviews will be conducted remotely on Microsoft Teams (week commencing 06 October 2025).
