Monday to Friday (45 hours per week) with occasional Saturday mornings
About the Role
G Crook & Sons are looking to recruit an experienced Mobile Plant Machinery Engineer to support our expanding operations. With a hire fleet of over 500 machines — from mini excavators to 35-tonne excavators, dumpers, dozers, screeners, and crushers — this is a hands-on and varied role working both on-site and at customer locations.
You will be provided with a fully equipped modern van, allowing you to carry out maintenance and repairs efficiently in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out maintenance and repair of plant machinery safely and efficiently
Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety compliance
Complete all paperwork and service records accurately
Use appropriate PPE at all times
Communicate effectively with Transport and Workshop Managers
Requirements
Proven hands-on experience in plant machinery maintenance and repair (essential)
Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) preferred but not essential
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
Own comprehensive tool kit (essential)
Full UK driving licence
Please note: This is a physically demanding, hands-on role. Candidates without practical experience or their own tools are unlikely to be considered.
