Job Description
Knowledge and Qualifications Required:
This role is suited for a candidate with operational experience in IP/MPLS/Ethernet/SDH networks, ideally within a Utilities environment.
Ability to manage resources required for top-tier network & telemetry operations.
Ensure outsourced services and partners meet high standards.
Experience managing outsourced services in an ITIL environment, setting direction, control, and standards, preferably in operational network settings.
Strong knowledge of relevant technology and systems comprising the network, telemetry, and SCADA infrastructure is advantageous.
Proficiency with network monitoring tools and fault diagnosis.
Understanding and interpretation of security and external regulations affecting operational networks.
Experience managing critical incidents outside normal hours, participating in an out-of-hours rota.
Candidates must be able to achieve SC security vetting clearance.
Educational requirement: Degree in computing or relevant engineering discipline.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL Practitioner, CCNA/DA, CCNP, Security) are desirable.
Key Tasks:
* Serve as the primary contact for business service liaison, including projects and service transitions.
* Manage all resources, including third-party providers, for the operational management and control of CNI SCADA and networks, ensuring resilience, safety, and security.
* Collaborate with IS, the business, and stakeholders to ensure network changes do not compromise safe operational control.
* Coordinate with Audit, Security, and government organizations to ensure compliance with policies and standards for critical CNI networks.
* Participate in incident management to restore resilience promptly.
* Lead root cause analysis investigations to facilitate learning and prevent recurrence.
* Manage the annual budget, tracking actuals against plans.
* Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
