* Specialist SEND school, Redhill

* Monday to Friday

* Agency initially until July; permanent from September

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and individuals with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. This role is essential in providing support to teachers and fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes the academic and social development of all students.

Duties

* Assist teachers in delivering educational programmes and lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.

* Support students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance and encouragement.

* Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to students, helping them to grasp challenging concepts and improve their skills.

* Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging participation and engagement from all students.

* Collaborate with teachers to develop strategies for working effectively with children who have disabilities or autism.

* Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.

* Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources, ensuring they are accessible to all learners.

* Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education.

Requirements

* Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities, is highly desirable.

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.

* A background in teaching or tutoring is advantageous, particularly in subjects relevant to the curriculum.

* Experience working specifically with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.

* A patient, empathetic approach towards teaching and mentoring students of varying abilities.

* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative when required.

* Relevant qualifications in education or special education would be beneficial but are not mandatory. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students while gaining valuable experience in the field of education
