NeurodevelopmentalPractitioner-MAINPURPOSEOFTHEJOB
ThispostholderwillworkaspartofTheNookTherapyClinicprovidingdiagnosticassessmenttoyoungpeopleandadults.

WeareonlyacceptingapplicationsfromindividualswhoaretrainedintheadministrationoftheAutismDiagnosticObservationSchedule(ADOS-2).
MAINDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Asaneurodevelopmentalpractitioner,thepostholderwillcontributetothediagnosticassessmentofautismandADHDinchildren,youngpeople,andadults(someadditionaltrainingcanbeofferedbutyoumusthaveADOS-2trainingtoapply.)
Undertheguidanceofaseniorpractitioner,theywillgainexperienceandprovidespecialistadviceandsupporttomulti-disciplinaryandmulti-agencyprofessionalsandfamiliesworkingwithneuro-diversechildren,youngpeople,andadults.
Undertheguidanceofaseniorpractitioner,theywillgainexperienceandprovidetailored,evidence-based,outcome-focusedtimelimitedsupporttothepartners/carersandwiderfamilymembersofautistic/neuro-diversechildrenandyoungpeople.
NeurodevelopmentalPractitioner-Thepostholderwill:
Contributetothedevelopment,co-ordinationandevaluationofspecialistinterventionsprovidedwithintheNeurodevelopmentalService.
Supportandcontributetoresearchprojects,ensuringinterventionsareevidencebasedandcomplywithNICEguidelines,currentlegislationpertainingtoautismandADHDandprofessionalstandards.
UndertakeacaseloadtosupportseniorNeurodevelopmentalTeamcolleaguesandworkaccordingtoaplanagreedwiththeTeamLeadandClinicalLeadfortheservice.
Thepostholderwillofferspecialistknowledgeandskillsappliedthroughtheoreticalandpracticalexperienceandcontributetomulti-disciplinarycasediscussion.
ThepostholderwillberequiredtoundertaketrainingandbecomeproficientundersupervisionintheassessmentofautismandADHDanduseofdiagnosticassessmenttoolsasrecommendedinNICEguidance.
Ensureeffectiveandtimelycontributiontomulti-disciplinaryteamdiscussionandsupervisionarounddiagnosticassessment.
Contributetothedevelopmentoftheservice,supportingtheorganisationtoimplementarangeofactivitiesand/orprogrammes.Thesemaybeon-goingandrequirecontributingtoevaluationandimprovement.
ProvidespecialistadviceandconsultationtootherprofessionalsforgingstrongrelationshipsacrosstheNeurodevelopmentmultidisciplinaryteam(MDT)andotheragencies.
Thepostholderwillbeanautonomouspractitionerwithintheirlevelofcompetency,undertheguidanceofaseniormemberoftheMDT.ManageowncaseloadprovidingsupportandadvicetoindividualswithautismspectrumconditionsandADHD.
ServiceManagementtoensureadherencetoHealthBoardpoliciesandproceduresandlegislationandgoodpracticeguidancearoundautismandADHDatalltimes.
ContributetothedevelopmentandreviewofNeurodevelopmentalteampoliciesandprocedures.ServiceImprovement.
Tobeapositiverolemodel,adheringtoprofessionalcodesofpracticeandHealthBoardvalues,providingexcellentstandardsofcare.
Contributeto,andsupportseniorcolleaguesinrelationtoNeurodevelopmentalserviceaudits,serviceevaluationandqualityimprovement.

NeurodevelopmentalPractitioner-COMMUNICATIONANDRELATIONSHIPS

Relevantdegreeinprofessionalspecialism(Nursing/AlliedHealthProfessional/SocialWorker/Education)RegisteredmemberofProfessionalbody(NMC,HCPC,ECW,CCW,RCOT)
WillingnesstotrainintheuseofspecificautismandADHDdiagnosticassessmentinstruments
Demonstratesanunderstandingoftheneedsofautisticindividuals,individualswithADHDandtheirfamilies/carers/partners.
HasinsightintothechangingneedsofthosewithautismandADHDacrossthelifespanHasknowledgeofmulti-agencypartnershipworkingand/orprovisionofmultidisciplinarycare/supportforautisticpeopleHasknowledgeofstandardsofrecordkeeping.Hasanunderstandingoftheimpactoflocal,cultural,linguisticanddemographicfactorswhichinfluenceservicedeliveryinownclinicalspecialism.

Thepostholderwillengageinallmandatorytrainingandotheraspectsoftrainingidentifiedthroughappraisal.
