An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Operations Department for a Supply Chain Manager to manage the company's overall Supply Chain (purchasing, planning and logistics) strategy reporting directly to the Operations director. Key Accountabilities & Duties Ensure that all operations within the Supply Chain Function are undertaken in full compliance with H&SE legislation and company policies. Design and maintain departmental budgets. Work with internal teams collaboratively, to help drive tools and process improvements that affect purchasing and procurement workflows, with emphasis on automating tasks that are currently performed manually. Leads the Supply Chain Team (Purchasing, Planning & logistics) in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed KPI's. Promote opportunities for and increasing profitability. Manage and minimise any risks that may interrupt the supply chain. Work with suppliers to negotiate the most cost effective and business appropriate agreements for the supply of materials and services. Lead, Coach & Mentor team members ensuring staff objectives and reviews are carried out. Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed (using the Near Miss System) in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act. Ensure that all operations within the Supply Chain Function are undertaken in full compliance with H&SE legislation and company policies. Lead, coach and develop the procurement, planning and logistics teams. Develop a Supply Chain Strategy that supports the company's objectives. Identify and drive annual savings throughout the supply chain Report, Monitor and Improve supplier performance Build supplier relationships using agreed strategic and ethical methods Oversees and insures proper production planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts and to balance the level of manpower and machine requirements. Makes certain that deviations to the production schedule are investigated and properly followed up. Chair the business Sales, Operations and Planning meeting Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements. Reduce working capital by analysing and controlling all aspects of material supply. Oversee product storage, handling and distribution Establishes procedures and manages the annual stock take. This includes the taking and valuing of the year-end physical inventory. Implementing new technologies and staying alert to new trends in the sector The Candidate Must have personal commitment to Safety, Quality and Environmental standards. Strong bias for action to identify potential problems and co-ordinate their resolution before they become an issue. Continually seeks to identify new ideas and implement new opportunities, which deliver business benefit. The ability to lead, build and develop effective relationships and use these to improve performance. Strong IT, communication and team working skills Knowledge of the principles of company policy and operating procedures in order to ensure site and company compliance. Proven managerial and leadership skills to ensure success.
