The nature of work done will involve design and development of new scientific instrumentation and peripheral devices (full design cycle), support and maintenance of design/production documentation for existing products, and support and development of relevant engineering control systems. This work will typically require collaboration across multiple disciplines within the R&D department and other function areas within the company. Responsible to the Mechanical Group Manager for: Design creation and development activity in line with Kratos engineering standards documentation. Design model creation for parts and assemblies. Bill of materials creation in the Kratos file management system. Peer review and approval of work done. This does not result in a status change to the item. Maintenance activity on Kratos engineering standards documentation in agreement with national/international standards as applicable and as required of the business. Creation and development of item specification material, including but not limited to model, drawing, data and RoHS documentation for items. Creation of design release material using Kratos file management procedures. Responsible for task-based activities in collaboration with engineers in the management of work for Design Change Requests (DCR). Responsible for the total work output of DCR(s) assigned. Investigate given DCR(s) to ascertain work functions required and forecast dates. Provide information to DCR management to facilitate assignment. Raising Manufacturing Change Notes (MCN) for design changes and enhancements. Raising permits and concessions as appropriate to facilitate continuation of production activities. Investigation of problems found on existing designs in engineering, production, test and field. Peer review of supporting documentation. Verification Reports, RoHS Change Sheets, and other R&D only documents. This activity results in no formal status change but can provide credence to the article in question. Project based design work as a task-based and full-time activity. Perform task-based activities in line with released systems.
