Graduate Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer
Mobility Cyber Labs is a fast growing specialist company dedicated to mobility cybersecurity, established in 2024 with offices in the UK and Japan. We work with global automotive OEMs and suppliers to secure next‑generation vehicles and mobility solutions through cybersecurity‑by‑design, testing and validation, competitive benchmarking and cutting‑edge research.
Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity for graduate engineers with backgrounds in Cybersecurity, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science or related disciplines who want to build a career in automotive cybersecurity.
In this hands‑on engineering role, you will learn and apply cybersecurity testing, research, and security engineering techniques to evaluate and strengthen the resilience of next‑generation vehicle technologies.
You will work on systems including:
* Electronic Control Units (ECUs)
* Charging infrastructure
* Connectivity modules (BLE, Wi‑Fi, cellular, etc.)
* Mobile applications
* Software‑defined vehicles
* Cloud/backend platforms
You will help deliver practical, actionable recommendations to global automotive clients through assessments, reports and workshops.
The Role
This is a predominantly lab‑based, hands‑on technical role, with opportunities to develop deep expertise in automotive security. Responsibilities include:
* Assisting in planning and executing automotive penetration testing projects.
* Supporting benchmarking of vehicle components, systems and whole vehicles.
* Developing cybersecurity proof‑of‑concepts and automation scripts.
* Contributing to TARA (Threat Analysis & Risk Assessment) and technical research.
* Learning to use professional tools for hardware, software, and network security testing.
* Opportunities for overseas travel to client sites or partner labs.
You will receive mentorship and ongoing training as you grow into the role.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for motivated graduates who are:
* Curious and eager to learn new technologies.
* Strong communicators (written and verbal).
* Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
* Detail‑oriented, organised, and proactive.
* Passionate about cybersecurity, embedded systems, or automotive technology.
We do not expect you to know everything on day one, but you should have a strong technical foundation in cybersecurity, electronics or computer science and familiarity with some of the following:
* Coursework or projects involving embedded systems, IoT, automotive, or cybersecurity.
* Exposure to networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model).
* Understanding of Linux environments and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
* Basic familiarity with communication interfaces such as USB, BLE, Wi‑Fi or cellular.
* Coursework, personal projects, or lab experience in:
o penetration testing
o firmware/software security
o mobile or web application development/testing
Strong interest in hands‑on work with hardware and software is important.
