Base pay range
Swimming Teachers
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £15.60 up to £17.52 per hour dependant upon experience
Salary Grade: NJC Grade 6 (Must be Level 2 SE or STA Certificate Teacher)
Contract Term: Casual
Hours of Duty: Wednesdays 9:30am - 2:30pm Primary school swimming lesson delivery.
Additional opportunities will be available to cover as required learn to swim lessons which run Monday - Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Further regular teaching opportunities will arise in the future.
Lymm Leisure Centre (based at Lymm High School) is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and reliable swimming teachers to join our fantastic teaching team.
We deliver high quality swimming lessons following the ‘Swim England Learn to Swim framework’ to over 650 swimmers each week. In addition, we deliver Primary School swimming lessons to children in the local area.
Role responsibilities
* Teach people of various ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water in a safe environment.
* Deliver lessons in adherence to the scheme of work.
* Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly.
* Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.
* Demonstrate swimming techniques and correct faults in technique to improve performance.
* Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress, recording progress on assessment sheets weekly.
Essential qualities and experience
* Punctual, flexible and reliable.
* Able to deal with candidates in a calm and professional manner.
* Well organized and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Skills
* Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming.
* Good communicator with the ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers.
* Understanding of how to differentiate in a teaching session.
