Could your voice help improve mental health care on the Island?
The Department of Health and Social Care is seeking two lay members to join the independent Mental Health Commission, a key body that helps safeguard the rights and wellbeing of patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1998. This is a meaningful opportunity for people from the local community who care about dignity, fairness and accountability in mental health services to influence change at a strategic level.
Responsibilities
* Work with fellow commissioners, Manx Care Mental Health Services and the Department to review care standards.
* Consider complaints and support ongoing improvement across services.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required; what matters is sound judgement, integrity and the time to commit to the role over a three‑year term.
Things to note
* A standard police check is required for this post, the cost of which will be covered by the Isle of Man Government.
* Please note a relocation package is not available for this role.
