Base pay range
My client is a privately held, fast-paced international company operating across Europe, the USA, and beyond is seeking an experienced Group Finance Director to lead the global consolidation and financial reporting function.
With more than 70 entities worldwide, this business is entering a critical phase of transformation and is looking for a finance leader who understands what robust governance, controls, and reporting look like in a large, professionalised environment—and can help bring that vision to life.
The role reports into the Group CFO, also based in London.
Role Requirements
Group Reporting & Consolidation
* Own and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual Group financial reporting calendar, ensuring accountability and timely delivery across all regional and entity finance teams.
* Oversee preparation and review of consolidated IFRS financial statements for external stakeholders.
* Drive high-quality internal reporting and commentary for the executive team, ensuring accuracy and clarity in group-level performance metrics.
* Lead the integration of acquired entities into Group financial processes, ensuring consistency in reporting and control standards.
* Suggest improvements in reporting systems, consolidation tools, and process automation.
Governance, Controls & Compliance
* Act as the key contact for external auditors, managing audit delivery and technical accounting matters.
* Maintain and enhance the Group Accounting Manual, aligning policy and practice across all entities.
* Ensure group-wide compliance with IFRS and evolving regulatory standards (e.g. SOX readiness).
* Establish and monitor internal financial controls to ensure integrity, consistency, and operational resilience across jurisdictions.
* Provide expert input into cross-border reporting, intercompany relationships, and corporate structuring.
Leadership & Operational Oversight
* Lead a globally distributed team across Europe and the US, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
* Build team resilience through cross-training, documentation, and systems-based process enhancements.
* Be a strategic partner to the CFO and wider executive team, offering group-level insight and risk awareness.
Successful Candidate
* A qualified finance professional with experience leading group consolidation and reporting in a complex, multinational environment.
* Deep knowledge of IFRS and practical exposure to US GAAP and SEC reporting (experience with US listings a strong plus).
* Proven ability to build and maintain robust governance and internal control frameworks.
* Skilled at managing geographically dispersed teams and complex stakeholder environments.
* Experienced in working within or bringing structure to high-growth, entrepreneurial private companies.
