Our client, a leading facilities management and building services company, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team servicing clients across Southampton, Hampshire, UK. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of commercial heating and gas systems. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of commercial gas appliances, boilers, and associated pipework. Responsibilities
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial boilers, heating systems, and associated pipework.
* Diagnosing and rectifying faults in commercial gas appliances and systems.
* Performing reactive repairs to ensure minimal downtime for clients.
* Undertaking new installations of commercial gas equipment and pipework in line with current standards.
* Ensuring all work complies with Gas Safe regulations and current standards.
* Completing all necessary documentation accurately and submitting reports promptly.
* Providing excellent customer service and building positive relationships with clients.
* Working effectively as part of a team and independently as required.
* Participating in an out-of-hours call‑out rota to respond to emergencies.
Qualifications
* Current commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1A, etc.).
* Proven track record in servicing and repairing commercial heating systems, especially large commercial boilers and associated plant rooms.
* Strong knowledge of Gas Safe regulations, health and safety legislation, and safe working practices.
* Excellent diagnostic, problem‑solving, practical, and mechanical skills.
* Reliable, punctual, and capable of managing workload effectively.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
