Hours of work: 40 Hours - Permanent
Salary: £27,000
What we need in a nutshell
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Assistant Manager from a chip shop or food & beverage background to help lead our award-winning venue, Catch 22, through another successful summer season. You’ll support the Food & Beverage Manager in making this venue a standout success—both commercially and in guest experience—by combining creativity, operational excellence, and brilliant team leadership.
You’ll need a can-do attitude, a keen eye for detail, and outstanding people skills. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays is a must.
Catch 22 has been serving sustainably sourced fish and local chips to our hungry holidaymakers since 2022. With a strong, established front and back-of-house team, plus the introduction of kiosk ordering and kitchen screens last year, we’re all about great service, speed, and quality.
What you’ll be doing
Working as part of our team of Holiday Heroes, you will be supporting the Food & Beverage Manager and making sure that our guests experience the best possible time with us. This includes:
1. Leading, training, and motivating a team to deliver delight.
2. Overseeing the smooth running of the venue, the preparation for service, as well as overseeing service and supervising the after-service duties.
3. Working alongside the team in a fast paced, high-volume venue with a constant eye on delivering world class service.
4. Driving revenue through service and sales whilst having an eye on profitable growth, delivered with care and flair.
5. Controlling margin through careful stock management and stock reconciliation through weekly stocktakes.
6. Supporting and standing in for the Food and Beverage Manager
One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times and eating, and drinking goes on in into the night, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings, and weekends too.
Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need
We have high standards! We’ll train you up, but you must:
7. Have previous management experience in a Food & Beverage environment
8. Show evidence of your superb people management skills
9. Have an eye for detail, a head for business and a mindset for innovation
10. Have knowledge and experience of catering and its many challenges
11. Have energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
Nice to have but not essential
It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we will not hold it against you if you don’t).
12. Know your profit and loss from your balance sheet and be able to control costs and grow profit
13. Level 2 in Food safety
14. Personal licence
15. Experience of working in the holiday sector
