Role – Social Care Worker (Homelessness Services)
Location – GCHSCP, various locations across the North East and North West of the city
Hours - 5 x 35 hours and 1 x 16 hours 50 minutes
Contract Status – Temporary, up to 31 March

At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP), we are seeking a Social Care Worker within Homelessness Services.
The primary focus of this role is to minimise the risk of people becoming homeless, through the provision of good quality housing option assessments, information and assistance, working with colleagues across the partnership, voluntary and private sector partner agencies, as part of the broader homelessness prevention agenda.
As a Homelessness Social Care Worker you will be expected to manage a busy and varied caseload, work as part of a team, and report to a Senior Homeless Worker.
Where homelessness cannot be prevented, the Social Care Worker will take responsibility for the provision of statutory homelessness assessments in line with the Housing (Scotland) Act as amended, secure temporary accommodation, develop person centred care and support plans, provide risk assessments and put in place appropriate support services, and prioritise the provision of settled accommodation where required.
The successful applicant will be experienced in managing a demanding caseload and completing needs assessments. They will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, willing to learn within a changing environment, with strong communication skills and able to demonstrate an excellent approach to customer service gained through experience of working with the general public.
It is desirable for you to have SVQ level 3 in Social Care / HNC or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards the qualification.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
