The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will support upcoming and live engineering projects, working alongside the wider engineering team to deliver high–quality designs, documentation, and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
* Produce 3D and 2D designs using SolidWorks (preferred) and AutoCAD
* Design new equipment and improve existing machinery and systems
* Update drawings, assemblies, and layouts as projects evolve
* Prepare technical documentation: reports, manuals, specifications
* Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, compliance and project teams
* Support technical problem–solving across machinery and equipment
* Ensure designs meet all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
* HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
* At least 3 years experience in design or manufacturing engineering
* Experience with machinery, pipework, assemblies, or similar equipment
* Competent in 3D CAD ideally SolidWorks
* Project management experience
* Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
* Interest in global projects, travel opportunities, and long–term development
