An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Deputy Pharmacy Production Manager to join our innovative Pharmacy Production unit at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust (UHBW). We are a diverse unit that holds ‘Specials’ and Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) licences, is MHRA accredited and carries out aseptic dispensing of products under Section 10 exemption and Pharmacist supervision. Key Responsibilities
* Work alongside Pharmacists, Technicians and Scientists to contribute to the advancement of healthcare and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
* Support the Associate Director of Pharmacy – Production in leading the Pharmacy Production Unit and providing highly specialist pharmacist input.
* Maintain and progress operations, quality management systems and people services within the unit.
* Provide operational involvement in all aspects of the department and participate as an Authorised Pharmacist in the supervision, checking and release of products prepared and dispensed in the department.
* Serve as the departmental lead for Clinical Trials and Investigational Medicinal Products, working closely with the unit’s in‑house Quality Assurance Team to implement new products, processes, systems and equipment, and to maintain all aspects of the unit’s Quality Management Systems.
* Prepare a range of product types, including CIVAS, Monoclonal Antibodies, Investigational Medicinal Products, ATMPs, aseptic and non‑sterile batches, extemporaneous preparations, and provide dispensing service for outsourced unlicensed products such as Total Parenteral Nutrition.
