Job Title: Deputy Gym Manager (12 month contract)
Location: YMCA North Tyneside, Church Way, North Shields, NE29 0AB
Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week
Hourly Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour

YMCA North Tyneside is looking for a self-motivated, passionate and experienced Deputy Gym Manager to join our team in North Shields. As Deputy Gym Manager, you will support the smooth running of the gym, providing a safe and enjoyable health and wellbeing environment at all times.
The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver innovative and effective fitness programmes and services. Along with effective leadership skills and a strong ability to inspire and motivate others whilst working in line with our values, goals and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
* Provide management support, supervision and be responsible for rotas
* Under the direction of the Gym manager ensure recruitment, induction, training and supervision is carried out effectively
* Contribute to and deliver the Gym Trading Plan
* Ensure highest standards of customer service are delivered at all times
* Maintain a high presence on the gym floor, interacting with and assisting staff and members with their needs
* Assist in and/or conduct member tours and inductions as required
* Administer, record and update training programmes as appropriate
* Actively support and communicate social and educational programmes to members
* Communicate and participate in fundraising and promotional events
* Be fully conversant with current trends and keep abreast of new initiatives and developments within the fitness, health and wellbeing sector
* Resolve any complaints effectively and in a timely manner
* Deliver high quality gym/group exercise sessions
* Clean and maintain equipment throughout the gym/studio
* Attend training and development programmes
Qualifications / Experience
The successful candidate will have leadership skills and experience in managing staff, delivering fitness programmes, and providing excellent customer service in a health and fitness environment. Strong communication, organizational and motivational skills are essential.
