Description
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Support Worker / Employee Access Assistant to support the Dog Training Support Coordinator at our Redbridge site.
As the Employee Access Assistant, you will form a close and trusting working relationship with the supported person. Having a person-centred approach, good communication skills, flexibility, and understanding are extremely important.
In this role, you will work in a growing and fulfilling environment where your efforts will be greatly appreciated by Guide Dogs and the people they help.
This position is based on-site at our Redbridge office, working closely with and supporting the Dog Training Support Coordinator. The role involves 25 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times. Core hours are 9-5, but there may be times when earlier or later hours are required.
Responsibilities will be detailed in the recruitment pack but may include:
1. Driving the supported person to facilitate travel requirements.
2. Providing sighted assistance, including orientation and sighted guiding in unfamiliar environments.
3. Note-taking and reading documentation to the supported person, handling information sensitively, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with data protection laws.
4. Assisting with basic data entry on Microsoft Office applications, maintaining Outlook calendar, and keeping accurate, confidential records.
5. Locating information from various sources, including the intranet, print materials, and internal Guide Dogs systems.
