A major listed PLC with a diverse and interesting portfolio of businesses within the group, and a significant turnover, is seeking to complement their busy in-house legal department.
The Role
This in-house legal counsel role will be fast-paced, at a business which has grown rapidly in recent years. The in-house team is well established and high calibre, and offers a supportive environment in which to work. You'll be given the opportunity to work across a broad array of in-house commercial and corporate legal matters. It is a classic non-contentious in-house legal counsel role, with the remit covering a variety of complex and interesting commercial contracts work, IP issues, support on corporate matters, data protection, and other tasks as they arise. It is a great opportunity for a lawyer looking to make their first move in-house.
About You
The ideal candidate would be a lawyer with around 1-3 years' PQE in a 'business law' environment, which could include corporate, commercial, projects, property, litigation, or regulatory backgrounds. The team has a track record of recruiting lawyers from atypical backgrounds and helping them develop into well-rounded commercial lawyers.
You'll need excellent communication skills, a positive 'can-do' attitude, and adaptability. You should be a genuine team player, comfortable in a fast-moving and dynamic business environment. Candidates may have experience from a recognised commercial law firm or in-house legal department, and an interest in moving to an organisation that values continuing professional development. Experience of in-house work, possibly through secondment, is desirable but not essential; the key is the right aptitude to fit into the in-house environment.
Benefits
The business is known as a very enjoyable place to work, offering a genuine work/life balance. Benefits include a bonus, pension, and a pleasant working environment.
