<div><p>£29,580.00 to £32,130.00 per year, £29580.00 - £32130.00 a year</p><p><b>Contract Type:</b></p><p>Contract</p><p><b>Hours:</b></p><p>Full time</p><p><b>Disability Confident:</b></p><p>No</p><p><b>Closing Date:</b></p><p>22/02/2026</p><h3>About this job</h3><p>Key duties and responsibilities include: You will be providing care to people of all ages, in a busy and diverse practice, contributing to core nursing roles and responsibilities, supporting the registered nurses to allow them to focus on more complex clinical care.</p><p>Following appropriate training, the following competency-based skills may be undertaken by qualified nursing associates working within general practice:</p><ul><li>Adult and child Immunisation under a Patient Specific Direction.</li><li>Shingles vaccine under a Patient Specific Direction.</li><li>Pneumococcal vaccine under a Patient Specific Direction.</li><li>B12 injections under a Patient Specific Direction.</li><li>Cervical Screening undertaking the role of cervical sample taker (in line with Public Health guidance on training requirements).</li><li>Taking of ECGs.</li><li>Phlebotomy including home visits if required (the correct indemnity and car insurance will be required).</li><li>Monitoring of long‑term conditions</li><li>QOF related reviews of complex patients.</li><li>Participate in clinical and non‑clinical audit.</li><li>New patient health checks.</li><li>Chaperoning duties as and when required.</li><li>Home visits as and when required.</li><li>Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses.</li><li>Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.</li><li>Surgical equipment and vaccine re‑stocking and stock rotation.</li><li>Clearing and re‑stocking consulting rooms.</li><li>Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs/PAs/Nurses as required.</li><li>Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and wellbeing.</li><li>Supporting and raising awareness of health and well‑being and how it can be promoted.</li><li>Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well‑being.</li><li>Collection of sample(s) of blood in accordance with policies, procedures and training.</li><li>Liaising with and assisting members of the nursing team.</li><li>Maintain an active status on the NMC register.</li><li>Engage in public health, community development and in the reduction of health inequalities.</li><li>Provide holistic, compassionate, safe and effective care and support to patients, their families and service users in a range of care settings under the direction of a registered nurse, following an agreed plan of care and without direct supervision.</li><li>Safely administer medication in accordance with local and national guidance.</li><li>Responsible for the correct and safe management of the specimens process including collection, labelling, handling, use of correct and clean containers, storage and transport arrangements.</li><li>Chronic disease management including management of diabetic patients, COPD patients, asthmatics, patients with hypertension in line with the NICE guidance and practice protocols.</li><li>To support the team in the assessment of patients with learning disabilities, mental health and dementia.</li><li>Administrative duties: To have a thorough knowledge of service procedures and protocols, know where to access them for reference and adhere to them at all times.</li><li>To support patient referrals ensuring robust follow up, whilst adhering to policies and protocols at all times.</li><li>Support the practice team to undertake administrative tasks as required, following appropriate training if required.</li><li>To attend meetings as and when required.</li><li>Ensure adherence to the Data Protection Act at all times.</li><li>To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.</li><li>Other duties: Any other duties, as agreed with the line manager to meet the needs of the organisation.</li><li>This may include travel to other sites within the organisation.</li></ul><p>Jobs are provided by the Find a Job Service from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).</p></div>
