Howard James Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing business to recruit a Finance Assistant (Accounts Assistant) to join their busy and dynamic finance team.

The Role
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Working closely with the wider finance team, you’ll be involved in a variety of accounting tasks, helping to ensure accuracy across financial records and contributing to efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing supplier invoices, purchase orders and payments accurately and in a timely manner
* Reconciling financial transactions and maintaining up-to-date records within the accounting system
* Supporting month-end and year-end processes, including preparation of reports
* Carrying out bank reconciliations and assisting with petty cash management
* Providing support with budgeting and forecasting activities
* Acting as a point of contact for supplier and customer queries, resolving issues efficiently
* Assisting with payroll administration and VAT return preparation
* Ensuring adherence to internal procedures and financial regulations
* Contributing to continuous improvement of finance processes and supporting project work where required
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience within an accounts or finance role is advantageous
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software such as Sage would be beneficial
* Good numerical and analytical skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
* Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
* Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
