About the role
NHS Forth Valley is recruiting to its Data Protection team. The successful candidate will work within the Information Governance Unit, supporting all services to comply with data protection and information governance legislation.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all data protection requests.
* Assess data processing activities and potential security incidents to ensure organisational compliance.
* Advise and assist applicants and services on the application of the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and related laws.
* Deliver training and help develop processes and documentation to advance information governance maturity.
* Support services and partners to operate safely and compliantly.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience interpreting and applying information governance legislation.
* Strong critical analysis skills, sound judgement, and excellent communication skills.
* Ability to present complex information in an accessible way.
* Flexible approach, effective workload management, and willingness to travel within the service area.
* Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check is required.
* Effective in a hybrid working environment.
Location & Working Arrangements
Based at NHS Forth Valley Headquarters, Carseview House, Castle Business Park, Stirling, FK9 4SW. Hybrid working is supported.
Additional Information
As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, but hourly rates will be adjusted to offset pay changes.
Applicants requiring sponsorship to work in the UK should review UK Government guidance on the Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visa routes. Sponsorship is considered on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and pre‑employment checks.
