Are you a passionate music or art teacher ready to step away from the traditional classroom? Would you love the opportunity to support young people in a way that’s flexible, focused, and deeply meaningful?
We’re looking for creative, nurturing teachers in Salford to deliver 1:1 sessions in music or visual arts to young people who are currently outside mainstream education. These learners may need support with emotional expression, confidence-building, portfolio preparation, or simply a safe space to explore their creativity.
You’ll teach in calm, low-pressure environments such as students’ homes, libraries, or local community venues—with support from a values-led, trauma-informed team. You may also collaborate with schools or services to support reintegration or next steps.

What you’ll be doing:

Delivering 1:1 creative sessions tailored to individual interests and needs (music or visual arts)
*
Supporting confidence-building, self-expression, and emotional wellbeing through the arts
*
Assisting students with GCSE, portfolio, or further education preparation (where appropriate)
*
Creating safe, calm, and inspiring learning spaces in homes, libraries, or community settings
*
Building trusting relationships with learners using a trauma-informed, person-centred approach
*
Liaising with families, schools, and support services to help learners reconnect and progress
We’re looking for someone who has:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant experience in music/art education
*
Experience working with KS4 learners or young people outside mainstream settings
*
Understanding of SEND, SEMH, or emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
*
A creative, adaptable, and empathetic approach
*
The ability to work independently while collaborating with a wider support team
