A support clerk role in the Antenatal & Newborn Screening team.
Responsibilities
* Identify and monitor screening coverage to the eligible population, ensuring programme safety through failsafe mechanisms.
* Collate and enter data for Antenatal and Newborn Screening programmes, including infectious diseases, sickle cell & thalassaemia, fetal anomaly, and newborn physical examinations.
* Maintain, evolve, and support database systems for cohort tracking and outcome recording.
* Access the National failsafe systems for NIPE examinations and Newborn Bloodspot screening to ensure compliance with Key Performance Indicators.
* Collect and submit data for quarterly KPIs, annual reports, the Health Protection Agency, and other screening data requests.
* Ensure all investigations, results, and appointments are recorded and tracked accurately.
* Escalate missed screenings promptly to the Screening Coordinator or Midwives.
* Chase up missing information by liaising with clinical staff, laboratories and service users.
* Assist in the collation of information/data collection as required.
* Communicate with other professionals involved in the screening process and participate in meetings, including taking minutes.
* Provide general clerical duties to support the screening team, such as photocopying and sending letters.
* Support the Screening Coordinator and Screening Midwives in developing and monitoring screening database systems.
* Participate in annual appraisals with line manager and provide administrative support for internal and external screening meetings.
* Full on‑job training will be provided.
