Specialist AP Teacher (QTS Required)

Salary: £32,916 - £51,047 (MPS/UPS)
Reports to: Head of Provision / SENCO
The Role
We are seeking a resilient, high-performing practitioner with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our Alternative Provision. This is not "behaviour management"-this is specialised, clinical pedagogy. You will be responsible for re-engaging learners who have been excluded from, or are unable to attend, mainstream education due to SEMH, ASD, or complex trauma.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Compliance: Lead on the delivery of the National Curriculum (adapted) and ensure all EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) outcomes are met and evidenced.
Data-Driven Progress: Use specialist assessment tools to track not just academic attainment, but also "soft skills" like emotional regulation and social integration.
Subject Leadership: As a QTS holder, you will take ownership of a core subject area, ensuring high-quality schemes of work across the provision.
Multi-Agency Liaison: Work alongside Educational Psychologists, CAMHS, and Social Care to provide a 360-degree support system for the child.Person Specification (Requirements)
Must hold QTS or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills).
Proven experience in Adaptive Teaching and differentiating for a wide range of needs (SpLD, MLD, SEMH).
Expertise in positive handling/de-escalation (e.g., Team-Teach, Price, or MAPA).
