Salary: Β£43,000-Β£48,000 per annum.

Hours: 50 hours a week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 06:00-18:00

Location: Canvey Island, SS8 0QY

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Depot Manager to join our team. The role involves leading sustainable growth for the business by directing, supporting, and developing people and delivering with your teams. You will care about doing the right thing for customers. You show this everyday through confident delivery, tenacity for making things happen and determination to drive through change and improvement. All while setting and maintaining standards from operational policies, transport legislation, health and safety and people management.


Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing


* Customer Service: Act as the key operational link with Sales and Customer Service. Resolve complex operational enquiries and fulfilment issues to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and retention.
* Inventory Management: Enforce robust Inventory Management processes. Oversee the accurate receipt of goods, mandate regular and bi-annual stock counts, and efficiently investigate and resolve all discrepancies to maintain high accuracy.
* Depot Operations: Oversee all depot operations to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. Devise, implement, and continuously refine Standard Operating Procedures tailored to depot needs, ensuring strict adherence to company policy and KPI targets.
* Transport Operations: Arrange routing of deliveries, to ensure they are cost effective and on time and ensuring compliance with all relevant transport regulations.
* Training: Ensure comprehensive and ongoing training is provided to all colleagues on product knowledge, SOPs, systems, and safety procedures. Actively coach and mentor team members to foster professional development and build a high-performing team culture.
* Health and Safety: Be the site safety lead, enforcing all regulations and procedures. Conducting regular audits and risk assessments. Investigate all incidents and implement corrective actions to ensure a zero-harm safety culture.
* Managing People: Lead, motivate, and inspire the team with a positive, results-driven approach. Conduct all necessary HR management duties, including, performance reviews, disciplinary procedures, and return-to-work interviews.
* Employee Relations: Champion a positive and inclusive work environment, be the primary point of contact for employee concerns, proactively resolving workplace issues to maintain high staff morale and engagement.
* P&L Management: Hold full responsibility for the depot’s Profit and Loss statement. Drive profitability by managing revenue targets, controlling operational costs and identifying opportunities for financial efficiency and growth.


A Few Things About You


* You know your local and national competitors and how to confidently compete
* You are confident and able to build relationships to increase customer accounts
* You will have excellent logistics knowledge including transport legislation
* Experience in leading and motivating your team
* Knowledge or understanding of HR issues and managing performance
* Experience of working to tight deadlines and meeting targets
* Experience of working to KPI's, budgets, tight deadlines and targets
* Understanding of working in an environment with daily changing workloads
* You will thrive in a customer driven and fast paced environment
* Confident with a fair and consistent approach to people management
* Able to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively at all levels and solve problems autonomously
* Organised and methodical
* PC literate including Microsoft Packages
