We are growing our Engineering team and are looking to appoint a lecturer to support increasing student numbers and provision. Our current delivery model is strong and fully established - these roles are about adding capacity and bringing in new industry expertise, not filling gaps.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to transition from industry into education. Whether you have years of experience in mechanical design, CAD, manufacturing or a related field, we will support you to develop your teaching practice and gain qualifications where needed.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in mechanical design and CAD (ideally SolidWorks), helping us further strengthen this area within the team.
The role is intentionally flexible. Depending on your background, you could teach in a workshop, CAD/computer suite, specialist teaching room or design & prototype facility. We align teaching to individual strengths, ensuring you teach in areas where you bring the greatest value while developing broader capability over time.
What You Will Teach
You will contribute to a well-established and expanding engineering curriculum, including:
* T Levels - Design & Development for Engineering & Manufacturing (Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic pathways)
* City & Guilds Engineering - Level 1 and Level 2 programmes with a balanced mix of mechanical and electrical/electronic content
* Engineering Apprenticeships - Levels 2 to 4 across a range of pathways
Delivery is varied and designed to reflect real industry practice. Depending on your experience, this may include:
* CAD and design-led teaching (including SolidWorks).
* Practical, workshop-based delivery.
* Applied engineering theory.
* Project-based learning linked to real engineering contexts.
You do not need previous teaching experience - we are looking for skilled engineers who want to pass on their knowledge. Your teaching load will be shaped around your expertise, allowing you to specialise while contributing to a wider team delivery.
