Job Application: Youth Justice Services Victim RJ Worker Grade 7 (£31,537 - £34,434) Cheshire Youth Justice Service are seeking to recruit a compassionate, motivated Victim RJ Worker to join our very friendly multi-disciplinary team on a permanent full-time basis. You will be allocated a cohort of victims, who have been harmed by children open to the YJS. It will be your role to make direct contact, listen to and ensure that the victims voice is heard in various forums, assessments and reports. You will offer the victims a menu of options which could include a direct meeting with the person who has harmed them, allowing for any questions to be answered and mediation to take place. Risk management, public safety and safeguarding are fundamental to our work and candidates need to be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of these requirements as they are integral to the post being offered. The postholder will require high emotional intelligence, excellent communication and IT skills, utilising a relationship-based practice model, and some understanding of the Victims Code of Practice (though training will be given). We would welcome applications from those with lived experiences, who may have a knowledge of victim and mediation work. As this post is within an organisation which works across Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Halton and Warrington, the post holder may be required to work across any of these local authority areas. For an informal discussion on this post, please contact Stephen Geraghty, Chris Dunn or the duty manager on 0345 145 0055. DBS Clearance will be required. Closing date for applications: 22/11/2025.
