A well-known education institution based in the city centre of Glasgow is partnering with Hays to secure a content assistant on a 6-month contract basis.
Your new role
The Content Assistant supports the creation, management, and delivery of high quality content across digital and offline channels. This role helps ensure that information produced by the organisation is accurate, accessible, user‑focused, and aligned with public sector standards, organisational goals, and statutory obligations. The postholder works closely withmunication teams, service leads, and subject‑matter experts to help deliver clear and consistent content for stakeholders, and internal audiences.
Your Duties will include :
1. Produce clear, concise, and accessible written content for websites, reports, newsletters, social media, and internalmunications.
2. Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, readability, and consistency with organisational style guides.
3. Adaptplex or technical information into plain language suitable for the audience.
4. Assist in uploading, formatting, and maintaining content within Content Management Systems (CMS).
5. Support regular content reviews to ensure relevance, accuracy, and legalpliance.
6. Monitor content performance and provide basic insights using analytics tools.
7. Liaise with internal teams to source information and develop content drafts.
8. Support collaboration across departments to ensure consistency and alignment of messaging.
9. Handle content‑related queries and support colleagues in adopting content best practice.
10. Ensure all contentplies with accessibility standards (, WCAG and public sector accessibility regulations.
11. Help apply user‑centred design principles when structuring information online.
12. Contribute to continuous improvement of content quality and user experience.
13. Supportmunication campaigns with content preparation and scheduling.
14. Maintain documentation such as content inventories, review logs, and publication timetables.
15. Assist with general administrative tasks related to themunications or digital team.
What you'll need to succeed

18. Experience using digital tools such as CMS platforms, Office 365, and collaboration software.
19. Understanding of accessibility and inclusivemunication principles.

Desirable
22. Experience working in a public sector,ernment, or regulated environment.
