Job Description
We are seeking a Project Engineering Manager to join our London team. The role involves acting as a design authority for radio projects for Blue Light customers and project managing all aspects of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Define technical architecture and solutions supporting MPS Managed Radio Service requirements;
2. Produce detailed design and costing schedules and formal proposals for large, complex radio projects;
3. Plan, project manage, and implement delivery of radio projects, including providing regular customer update reports (RAG status);
4. Prioritize and deliver work packages within budget, schedule, and quality standards;
5. Technically direct multidisciplinary teams of up to 15 members;
6. Mentor and develop team members, fostering continuous improvement and innovation;
7. Lead customer discussions on radio requirements from technical and operational perspectives;
8. Develop procedures and documentation for new MPS radio systems, solutions, and services;
9. Assess technical impacts of change requests;
10. Attend internal and customer meetings;
11. Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts with effective solutions.
Note: Due to security clearance requirements, only applicants who have lived in the UK for 5+ consecutive years will be considered.
While the role offers remote work options, applicants must reside within 1 hour of London to meet customer SLAs.
Qualifications
* Ability to obtain or currently hold SC level UK National Security Vetting;
* Highly motivated and proactive;
* Excellent communication, client-facing, and influencing skills;
* Experience with Project Management methodologies;
* Knowledge of Airwave and TEA2 code of practice;
* Knowledge of Tetra Radio Technology (Infrastructure, Mobiles, Handhelds, Desktops);
* Understanding of Digital & Analogue Radio Systems used by Blue Light Services.
