A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join our “Award Winning” Planning Department. This is an exciting time to join the department as we publish our draft plan shaping the future of Stockport for the next 15years.
Your Role
As an Enforcement Officer you will join a busy service and play an important part in ensuring that development is carried out in accordance with planning permissions granted as well as dealing with all aspects of unauthorised development, including suggesting appropriate action to ensure that effective action is taken in accordance with the Councils adopted Planning Enforcement Policy and Development Plan.
About You
You will have experience in planning enforcement or experience in a similar role. You will need to be well organised, effective at working as part of a team as well as carrying out independent site visits. Good communication, analytical and technical skills along with the ability to deal with conflict situations whilst remaining calm but assertive are essential.
The post is career graded providing the opportunity for the successful candidate to demonstrate that they can take on additional responsibility and develop their experience, skills and knowledge in order to progress to SO1 grade.
