Job Description
We’re supporting the growth of a specialist engineering team developing high-performance technology used in extreme operating environments. This is a newly created role, designed to strengthen materials capability within a multidisciplinary engineering team working on highly regulated, safety-critical products. You’ll provide hands-on and theoretical expertise across materials used in demanding thermal, mechanical and corrosive conditions. * Support material selection for high temperature and harsh environment applications
* Advise engineers on material properties, performance and limitations
* Assess the effects of manufacturing processes
* Ensure material properties are maintained through production processes
* Support design-for-manufacture activities and production readiness
* Evaluate physical property testing methods and interpret results
* Work alongside design and manufacturing engineers to preserve material strength
* Support root cause investigations relating to material performance
* Contribute to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
Mechanical EngineerRequirements:
* Experience working with metals and/or ceramics in engineering applications
* Understanding of materials in extreme thermal environments
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their effect on material properties
* Experience with physical property testing and validation
* Ability to bridge materials science and practical engineering application
* Strong communication skills with cross-functional engineering teams
