Wm Pringle & Son Ltd are currently seeking to recruit an experience Traffic Clerk on Day Shift to join our team. Working on a 4 on 4 off Rota, 6am to 6pm (12hour Day shift), you will contribute to the smooth and efficient operational activities within the traffic office to ensure customer needs and expectations are met. The traffic clerk provides administration support to the team in relation to communicating information to the drivers, reporting information through daily briefings, monitoring the completion of documentation ensuring it`s done in line with company procedures.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The ideal candidate will possess: -
* Previous experience within a transport/logistics organisation
* Attention to detail for accurate data entry
* A full understanding of current UK Transport Legislation or a willingness to learn
* A basic understanding of compliance with Transport Operators Legislation
* Working Knowledge of driver legislation and working time directive (training provided)
* Experience of using Tachomaster, vehicle tracking software (training provided).
* Good geographical knowledge of the UK
* Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving.
* Ability to work with excel & word spread sheets.
What you'll do on a typical day:
As a Traffic Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and effective operation of our Transport Office. Your responsibilities will include: -
* Working to ensure the vehicle planning is followed through to achieve the common goal of effectively servicing our customer requirements
* Communicating effectively with customers, third parties and colleagues.
* Monitoring vehicle tracking to ensure timely collections/deliveries
* Generating driver paperwork using our traffic management software.
* Briefing and de-briefing all drivers, ensuring all paperwork is completely correctly
* First point of contact of any Driver issues that occur during the shift.
* Undertaking compliance checks with drivers.
* Ensure KPI's and targets are achieved and maintained.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
Candidates must make sure they are able to make their way to and from the place of work to meet the working hours stated. Please also note that this location is not easily accessible via public transport so it would be ideal if you have your own car
