Senior Associate - Projects, Infrastructure & Construction (Future Energy)

A leading national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its expanding Projects, Infrastructure & Construction (PIC) team in Bristol. This opportunity is ideal for a construction lawyer with experience in the renewable energy sector, looking to step into a key role within a high-performing, forward-thinking practice. The Bristol office, opened recently as part of a firmwide strategic growth plan, offers ambitious lawyers a unique platform to accelerate their careers. The Team
The PIC team advises across a broad range of sectors including infrastructure, utilities, real estate development, and energy. It is nationally ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers, with a reputation for working on complex, high-profile projects. Much of the team's work intersects with the firm's Future Energy group - a market-leading clean energy practice. The firm has been recognised globally for its activity in energy M&A and is consistently involved in many of the
UK's most significant renewable transactions. Clients include developers, funders, investors, and buyers/sellers of major energy projects.
The Role
As a Senior Associate, you will:
* Lead on complex non-contentious construction matters in the future energy sector, with Partner support where appropriate
* Manage and deepen key client relationships
* Supervise and mentor Associates, Trainees, and Paralegals
* Contribute to strategic planning and business development activity in the Bristol market and nationally
* Play a leading role in tenders and client pitches
* Help drive the continued development of the team's renewable energy offering
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will:
* Be a qualified solicitor (SRA or equivalent) with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience
* Have strong experience in non-contentious construction and/or projects work, ideally with a renewable energy or infrastructure focus
* Be confident working with industry-standard contracts, such as NEC and JCT
* Have excellent technical, drafting and communication skills
* Be commercially minded and capable of operating autonomously
* Demonstrate experience in mentoring or supervising junior team members
* Show the ambition and leadership qualities needed to help shape the Bristol offering
